Annual · Inaugural 2026
Mrs Check-In Family Hotel Awards
Each year we recognise the hotels that get it right — not the loudest or the largest, but the rooms and resorts a family will remember for a lifetime.
The Awards are an editor's list, not a popularity contest. There is no public vote and no paid entry. Winners are chosen from hotels already on the Mrs Check-In Family Index, judged across a small number of categories that matter to design-loving families. Below is the shape of the inaugural list — the names are illustrative until the 2026 edition is published.
Award winners
Best Family Suite
Le Palais des Jardins
Paris, France
Twelve interconnecting suites that let a family of five sleep behind one front door — grand, intelligent, and dressed in the same linen throughout.
Best Design
Machiya House Kiyomizu
Kyoto, Japan
A restored townhouse where every surface teaches restraint — and children learn the small ceremony of removing their shoes.
Best Kids' Club
Masseria delle Lucciole
Puglia, Italy
A farm club with real chores and real rewards — gathering eggs, pressing oil, and a kitchen that lets children cook what they grow.
Best Family Table
Casa Areia
Comporta, Portugal
A beach kitchen where the children's menu is simply the chef's menu, smaller — and breakfast runs until the last sleeper surfaces.
Editor's Choice
Dar el Fassia
Marrakech, Morocco
A riad that turns its rooftop into a nursery under the stars — the most quietly magical stay of the year.
For Winners
Marks a hotel may display
Winning hotels receive a digital and printed laurel to show with pride — on their site, at their door, and beside the front desk.
